I had such an amazing and profound wachuma plant medicine journey with Jyoti as my facilitator. He exhibited all levels of care ensuring I felt safe, secure and supported from start to finish. I felt as though I was going back to my roots with the location being quite primitive and the ceremony held in the protected biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an. The true off -grid experience allowed me to disconnect from the distractions of everyday life and connect directly with the elements. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee at the front of the reserve with payment received by card if you do not have a Mexican resident ID card. This one of a kind place is where the beach, jungle and a lagoon meet each other to provide a deeply unique experience. During my plant medicine journey I could truly feel the powerful energy of the reserve and the sacred atmosphere that I felt blessed to encounter. Jyoti was there watching after me and he ensured I was safe and comfortable at all times. He kept his distance to ensure that the experience was fully mine, but if I needed anything he was immediately available. Jyoti is a master of holding space and operates with the utmost integrity. So grateful to him for offering his presence as a guardian of my journey. I would definitely use Ek Lum Tulum in any future plant medicine experiences or ceremonies when I return to Tulum.

The Wachuma experience was wonderful — I had some profound insights and meaningful connections throughout the journey. Jyoti provided a very safe and supportive environment that allowed me to fully relax and trust the process. The experience took place in nature on a quiet beach with no one else around, which made it feel very special and peaceful. The only downside is that there are no toilets (nature is the toilet), so just keep that in mind. Personally, I didn’t need one during the journey, so it didn’t bother me much, though it was a bit inconvenient. Overall, I’m very grateful for the experience.
